Awesome news from an amazing patient and family- Justice spent quite a while with us in August after severe heatstroke.September 21st, 2016
Here he is after a full recovery and some very kind words from his family:
It has taken me this long to give you an update because I wanted to be able to give you the most accurate information. He just had his blood tested today and all of his levels are back to normal. His BUN and his creatinine spiked after we took him home from you and he ended up in the local vet for another week, with an IV and with a feeding tube as he still had no appetite. We brought him home on August 23 and were giving him one-liter sub-q drips twice a day and a whole retinue of antibiotics and appetite stimulants. Eventually it went down to one liter a day and for the past week, he has had no sub-q fluids, no meds, nothing. His BUN today is 22 and his creatinine is 1.8. Our local vet pronounced him “a completely normal dog”. Needless to say, we are thrilled and we are deeply indebted to you. The care you took of him — and of us — was extraordinary. You were always there to answer our questions; we know that you loved Justice and were routing for him; and we know you went out of your way to help him heal. You, literally, saved his life and we cannot thank you enough. We took a video of him running after this ball yesterday but it is too big to send. Once I edit it, I will send it, but in the meantime, I thought this photo of him — looking so happy, so healthy, and so relaxed — would make you smile.
